A urinary catheter is a long, hollow, rubber drainage tube that is inserted into the body. It enters where you urinate and goes into the bladder. A small balloon is inflated at the tip of the tube once it is in your bladder. A Foley catheter is a sterile tube that is inserted into your bladder to drain urine. It is also called an indwelling urinary catheter. The tip of the catheter has a small balloon filled with solution that holds the catheter in your bladder.
Our qualified RN’s and LPN’s are available to assist with either type of catheter care. They are able to clean the tube and the area where it attaches to your body. this type of care reduces the chances of infection or skin irritation.
